December and January saw lots of snow and cold weather. There is plenty of ice on the lake and many people are out there ice fishing. There have been several pictures in the paper of Northern Pike over 40 inches long. Walleye and panfish are also being taken. Mousees, waxworms, cornbores and minnows

December and January saw lots of snow and cold weather. There is plenty of ice on the lake and many people are out there ice fishing. There have been several pictures in the paper of Northern Pike over 40 inches long. Walleye and panfish are also being taken. Mousees, waxworms, cornbores and minnows are some of the bait of choice.
Most of the hunting seasons have finished. We had several bucks on our buck pole and there were many deer sightings. Rabbit season is still going and the snow is not that deep that a hunter couldn't get around. Look for the thicker spots and you will find the rabbits.
Spring turkey applications are now available. You can get them on line or at most sporting stores. You must have these in by Feb. 01.
Based on sighting from last fall, the spring season should be good.
