The fishing has slowed down some from the hot days of July. We have had a lot of fronts coming through with some pretty good winds. Caught maybe 10 walleye all last week. 3 keepers and a nice bass.

The fishing has slowed down some from the hot days of July. We have had a lot of fronts coming through with some pretty good winds. Caught maybe 10 walleye all last week. 3 keepers and a nice bass. I think I got spoiled with the walleye fishing this year. In some years past catching 10 in a week would have been great. Am getting a few keeper pan fish. Leaches and crawlers are still the bait. Some are using minnows and they are working also. The weather looks warm right into Sept.
Leftover turkey licenses go on sale for those that applied and did not get one on Aug. 23. On Aug. 30, anyone can buy a leftover license.
I did not get my bear license. I had 4 points and felt sure I would. 59% of those with 4 points got a license, but I was not one of them.
Antlerless deer permits (mostly on private land) will go on sale September 10.
